Pet Hair Removal

Pet hair is a challenging substance to remove from the interior of a vehicle. Pet hair strands are light and easily woven into cloth fibers. Specific tools are used to simplify the pet hair removal on both carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces.

To begin, the majority of dust and debris must be removed. Then pet hair removal tools are used to dislodge and pile the hair, followed by vacuum removal.

The time to remove pet hair is dependent on the interior surface area of the vehicle, and the intensity and amount of pet hair accumulated. Once the pet hair removal is complete, the areas of application will be free of pet hair.

Safety supplies include impervious gloves.
You will require a vacuum to complete this task. View the products used tab for Auto Valet products and accessories relating to this detailing task.

Directions

STEP 1: REMOVE DUST AND DEBRIS

Remove loose valuables and garbage, dislodge dust and debris, and give the interior a vacuum.

STEP 2: REMOVE THE PET HAIR

For carpeted surfaces, use a pet hair removal stone. For non-carpeted surfaces, use a pet hairbrush. Gently glide the stone or brush across the surface in a sweeping motion, gathering the hair into a pile, or various small piles. Use a vacuum to remove the piles of hair.

STEP 3: REVIEW YOUR WORK

Review your work. For remaining pet hair repeat step 2. If hairs are tightly woven into the cloth fibers, use a stiff-bristled brush to assist in loosening the hairs. Use a vacuum to ensure the areas of application are free of loosened pet hair.

Tips

  • Pet hair must be completely dry before effective removal is possible.
  • The pet hair removal stone is abrasive and will scratch non-carpeted surfaces. Only use the pet hair removal stone on carpeted areas.
  • Be sure to carefully read and follow all product instructions and precautions, on the product labels.
